Preacher Man Poem by Loyd C Taylor Sr

Preacher Man

I recall like it was today,
At that altar where I prayed.
Shackled by sin I bent my knee,
A sinner pleading to be set free.
At that spot, I made things right,
Darkness gave way to God's wonderful Light.
Cause you preached the Word to me,
"Preacher man."

My life was tumbling to the ground,
Satan had me spinning around.
He sang to me his lying rhyme,
Tried to rob me of precious time.
But the Gospel you proclaimed,
Then salvation by faith I claimed.
Now to you my peace I owe,
"Preacher man."

Listen up Christian, I'm telling you,
Gods got work for us all to do.
Some to sing, lifting voices in song,
Some to give, helping others along.
But the one God used the most,
Preaching in the power of the Holy Ghost.
He's the one that we all know as,
"Preacher man."

Preacher man, preacher man.
Preach it loud! Preach it strong!
Help me do good and keep me from wrong.
Preach it over and over again, "Preacher man."
Preach it over and over again, "Preacher man."
