Prayer Works Poem by Rick Elpers

Prayer Works

The seeming interplay
Between our desires of the heart
Born of faithful righteousness
 Not of vain need
And the competing worldly
Aspirations hoping for peace
With healing from nature
that can be touched, seen and held
Cause those who pray to
The invisible spirit watching,
Waiting and expecting, building
Hopeful patience to one day
Know exactly that He is behind
Every result in life
God hears and determines
As He wills to answer according our
Petition, sees favorably to respond
Moving mountains or even simple
Gestures of seeming insignificance
To remind us that from us
through Him anything is possible

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Hearing of a friends fathers illness in the morning, caused me to pray on his and her behalf. That night, news of his probable recovery inspired this to remind me of who's in charge.
