Dear Heavenly Father,
Some men perhaps
Walk on Your halls,
Your Cathedral
And ask only
For wealth,
For glory,
For power,
For fame,
For beauty.
And maybe
That's all
They think they need.
But as a child
Who desires
To see
The magnificence
Of Your
Divine splendor;
As a child
Who prays
To be amazed
Throughout
An eternity hence.
I humbly ask
Of Your virtues.
Let them be
Part of me,
Part of my
Yearning soul.
So that then,
I may do Your work
And accomplish
My destiny.
May Your will be done,
And I be
Satisfied
In Your grace.
Amen.
