Prayer Poem by Chris Jibero

Prayer

Majestic prolific hands
of the master planter
tirelessly sowing endless
opportunities on arable lands
some in viable valleys
for strolling eyes to behold
and take
for deaf and dumb, rummaging legs
to stumble upon and possess
for blind searching hands
to harvest and embrace

Some treasured seeds still stowed
you perfectly on cherubic
mountain tops with protruding
productive bowels
for daring discerning souls
to discover
some still in the charming
chambers of joyful waters
shallow and deep
for avid adventurous hearts
that consider waters vast
mass of flat land to take

Some more laid you in the warehouse
of steely eggheads
and in the pouch of the lofty
scary skies, behind the thick blinds
of rolling rough clouds are others
yet properly kept for those
who see no risks in opportunities
but possibilities to appropriate
like eagles that ride
power-flaunting and arrogant storms

Guide me now aright
oh everlasting Light
not into a ditch of dross
and slime
but like a well-shot
precision missile
into a thriving plantation
of gems whose path the strong
and powerful know not
to conquer and forever rule
this expansive flourishing fortune
field littered with ripe
faith fruits of life to gather.
