Poverty Talks About Itself. Poem by MOHAMMAD SKATI

Poverty Talks About Itself.

It saddens me
To see poverty
Here and there,
Poor people are
Anywhere and everywhere,
Most of us reject abject poverty, but
It prevails freely
Here and there,
Poverty steals happiness and
Sadness is a prevailing image,
Greed is always behind misery, wretchedness, and
Even poverty,
As`long as there are poor people,
It means there is something wrong
Around us everywhere.

Poverty Talks About Itself.
