Pond Skater Poem by Anthony Dover

Pond Skater

Dare I tread,
On this Pond,
For fear of being eaten,
By a stickleback,
Or a watchful toad,
Shall I keep my words unopened,
And reach the bank,
And hide in the reeds,
Waiting for Spring?
