'' Politicians Are The Scourge Of Mankind '' Poem by Bri Mar

'' Politicians Are The Scourge Of Mankind ''

We place our trust,
In educated fools?
Each and every five years,
We then go bust,
Lose all our jewels,
Yet none of them sheds any tears.

There's never a doubt,
It's we who'll pay,
For incompetence beyond the norm,
We bail them out,
Without any say,
There is surely a need for reform.

The country is skint,
There's no money left,
Then suddenly we get a surprise,
Those worth a mint,
Who are guilty of theft,
Award themselves a very large rise?

To them it's a craft,
To us it's a con,
As austerity is our way of living,
As the worker they shaft,
They just move on,
Their treatment of us? Unforgiving.

The conflicts they start,
We know are not right,
But straight into the cauldron we go,
To them it's an art,
They don't have to fight,
It's our blood not theirs that will flow.

Are we really so dense?
That we cannot see,
We the majority are being robbed blind,
If we used common sense,
We could set ourselves free,
