Policies Addressed Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Policies Addressed

Policies made to address,
Discipline and respect.
Has begun to have an effect,
Upon those with fading choices...
To believe they are entitled to do,
Whatever they choose.
When and where they please.
Already to have stretched,
Laws, rules and the misuse of justice.

Today,
These policies made to address,
Discipline and respect shown.
And expected to give to others.
Have those deluded and spoiled.
Upset and protesting,
Over having their 'rights' and liberties...
Gone.
Enforced to do something,
Unknown to have never done before.
Think of others.
Or pay the price,
For choosing selfishness and self importance.
As a reason to believe,
Some were born to live better lives.
Than others they perceive,
Are undeserving to be shown...
Respect to get.
And a quality of life to expect it.

"How dare you to believe,
You should be treated 'equality'?
As if I should acknowledge you to be...
Like me.
Among the 'chosen' ones."

-Well...
You can stay 'chosen'
For as long you want.
However...
My chosen choice to choose,
Is for you to keep from me...
A 'social distance'.
Allowing you 'and' your chosen self,
No benefit of a doubt.
And my peace of mind left intact.
Kept from being reminded,
By those performing acts of nobility! -

"Oh.
So appalling and offensive,
I find your rude comments to be."

-Trust me.
From 6 feet and a mask to wear.
You will not hear my thoughts.
Or notice my ethnic heritage.
Trust me.
Try it! -
