Poison #5 - Poem by Jennie Renee Sparrow

The naked sky cries out to you
When the hunger dwells
Desperately seeking into
Your skin where it fills
All of your emptiness through
Darkness that it kills

Just to keep you alive
Upon desires
Beneath the ocean's five
Against the fires
Opens your eyes
Separates you from the liars

Whose poisons
Sleep inside your veins
Immediate toxins
Scream out their names
Without reasons
Within your own shame

They use your flaws
To silence the dreams
That have abused all laws
Raging beyond all means
Losing grip of reality's claws
Each time forgetting everything

All that you have stood for
Has been stripped away
It has now locked the door
As you begin to stray
Looking for an escape unto your
Self-righteous ways

It's just all in your own head
What you allow to wake
And what you know is already dead
Your heart they cannot fake
Proves all things that I just said
When they realize it's your soul they cannot take
