Haunted Castle Poem by G J Salgado

Haunted Castle

Rating: 4.5

Ten years ago a mistaken vow was made
We were just young teens looking for fun
Not knowing how what was forbade
Soon our fate stroke by the hour of one

Upon our anniversary we would meet again
Though we have not seen each other in years
It was nice to see an old friend
We held each other as we wiped our tears

For the memories of that place returns
Of the day that everything changed
Secrets within my mind it burns
Haunting of the forbidden castle estranged

We both knew it was wrong to enter
Two curious kids looking for an adventure
Just thinking of it makes me shiver
By the thoughts of the eyes in the pictures

Eyes that seemed to follow
Forever dwelling
Vulnerable under our own shadow
Improper for story telling

This is not at all a fairyland
Or tales of nursery rhyme stories
I was scared and so I held your hand
But we found ourselves within its hidden glories.
