Poetry - Poem by Palas Kumar Ray

Adam looked at the lonely moon.
throughout the night he mused
he was all alone of his kind

unlike those lovely birds
unlike every other animals
who wandered in pairs around

till it was dark all around him.

He wished there be someone
also with him of his kind
as beautiful and tender for him.

Tears rolled down his cheeks.
Adam soulfully prayed for Eve.

    Palas, very well done. Very alive and real. By the way, you commented on one of my poems. Questioned my age. No, the age is incorrect. Don't like ages being displayed. Feel it detracts from essence of written thought. I'm rebelling. Thaks for your encouraging words. My best, Carol (Report) Reply

    a beautiful piece about creation
    the first man and woman... this shows love...
    eve was taken from the ribs of Adam....near his heart to be loved, not from his feet to be stepped upon...
    ...if Adam and Eve haven't committed sin, there there will be no US, no people around...
    great share....10++++ (Report) Reply

    A most inventive & intriguing spin on the Bible's kick-off story of God's Creation of Man & Woman...And a most apropos title...as indeed, this is a fine display of what poetics be.
