ON BEING ONE'S SELF
I have a friend
Who said to me,
' You are not
Who I thought
You were -
Nor what I expected
You to be. '
What could I reply?
I am me.
I am who I am.
I am what I am.
I have only to be myself -
NOT
Who nor what any other
Expects me to be.
In being me
I and all around me
Experience me
Exactly as needs be -
ITs law
Is that exact!
And this is how
I experience
All others -
Including you!
With me,
You are free to be
Yourself.
In experiencing you
As yourself,
And you, me,
as myself,
Both our lives
Are bettered,
AND
Even better,
ITs will
Is served!

A refined poetic imagination, Mike B. You may like to read my poem, Love And Iust. Thank you.
Hi Jazib, I reviewed your poem, Love and.....a lot of thought went into it and it makes its point. Great poetry writes itself....read some of Keat's and Shelly's thoughts on poetry. In the highest sense, the poet is simply the conduit through which poetry flows. Cheers, an may the blessings be.
