Please Poem by Silvia Jen

Staring spaced out I slouched,
before the flickering lights.
Just another day of sloth,
piling grime and mould.
My waking hours now,
pervaded by banal junk,
I cannot detox of it
nor do that I want.
Finally leafing through the pages,
my only escape and refuge,
take me please to settle,
in peace and solitude.
