Plane Trees Poem by Shqipe Prence

Plane Trees

There, under the magnificent plane trees,
So beautiful and impressive to see,
When the sunshine like pearls,
The umbrella tree paints in golden curls,
Plane trees,
The lung of the country in green!

Plane trees full light and shades,
renown as historic monuments,
How much tales and history tell you,
How much arm-enfolded love and youth, too,
Plane trees,
The lung of the country in green!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
These trees soak up the toxic fumes of car fuel and are often referred to as green lungs of the country, city, village, besides giving such beauty to river banks, parks, streets...
