Pieces Of Apparition. Poem by SANJAY K PATRA

Pieces Of Apparition.

What was happening in my heart
could not be ascertained
for the dark lane beside woods
turning darker,
fearful shrill of unknown animal
dampening spirit more and more,
drops of sweats in the winter evening
after advent of prominent evening
making vision murky,
falling down of some dried leaves
riding on ethereal grace
with masking of silence
being broken by cautious footprints,
some other noises far off
coming to ear so fluently
that other time had no such penchant,
biting of an invisible wood-pecker
enhancing ghostly concert,
a sharp search light appearing
crossing a probable avenue nearby,
all made a grand show of apparition.
