Physical Poem by Elle Jay E..

Physical

Hidden from the world
your bruises and your pain
hidden from the world
your hate and all that shame
your mother hits you with those paddles
your dad with the phonebooks
he yells at you too
wont leave any bruises
but your hearts battered and too bloody to use
your eyes tell the story
your hands tell the game
your muscles show the struggles
but never show the pain
you hide back in your mind
dont speak unless you see
that the person wont hurt you
that theyll let you be free
dont touch me at all
your scared of your own strength
wont punch back, youll just fall
rather take the pain than that fame
dont worry I wont tell
ive been in the same situation you see
but you gotta believe
and see the things around me
sweet kid
street kid
they're along the same line
your dads a drug dealer
your mom doesnt have the time
raised by the rap
that you hear from your speakers
raised off the slap that comes from the weaker
you can get away from them
but you chose to stay here and see
everything that you love
and all the beauty that you let be
