Ph: Life: Whatever You're Feeling

Rating: 5.0

Whatever you're feeling is OK with me,
Though tonight I am on your s*** list.
I'm one who believes in acceptance you see
Even when it means I don't get kissed.

It's not that I'm really all that fond of fate,
Truth be known I'm not sure that fate's real,
No argument's worthy of staying up late
Until nobody knows what they feel.

For arguments really just come in two kinds,
Those that matter and then those that fade,
What matters will always need meeting of minds,
While the latter means skip the Kool-Aid.

And truly, however this argument ends,
If I never should see you again,
I still must believe that we'll always be friends,
Though the sword somehow shatters the pen!

But if you discover you're wanting to leave
Please don't let my door whump on your ass,
Still wire for a ticket you'd like to receive
And I promise to send you a pass!

Just how did it manage to come down to this,
My ambivalence labelled a lie,
A small quake that seems to have opened abyss,
Or a feminine test on the sly?

But I will not run dear one, I will not hide,
I am here and I'm staying the course,
Whatever your mental state I'm on your side,
After fall, look for me on the horse.

Relationships never match heaven above,
All in all perhaps not worth the chance?
And rare is the couple that understands love,
Still here's boy asking you for a dance.

A nice poem for Valentine's Day. Well written. Succeeds in telling us a story of a couple in disagreement. I enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing
