Ph: Life: One Day Closer To Eternity Poem by Brian Johnston

Ph: Life: One Day Closer To Eternity

This morning I woke up again
Much closer to eternity,
But though it's clear this life will end
Today is still enough for me.

I do not KNOW what lies ahead
And yet I FEEL that God is real,
For beauty in the world around
Is such a part of His appeal.

Life's not a privilege that I earned,
Seems more a gift of Divine Grace,
My intellect a mystery,
My will a ticket to disgrace.

Is soul just phantom of the mind
And every good I'd do in jest?
Without a God is life in vain?
Is man the author of life's test?

For some God's judgment's fantasy,
For others it brings only fear,
I find 'God's Goodness' fount of hope
That time may make life's meaning clear.

Man's life an eye blink in God's time
But where's creation more divine?
Though just a footnote on life's stage
Made in God's image 'His Design? '

It's said God's spirit's only Love
That certainly is what I'd know
For life seems wasted at a gym
What most think gain just TV 'snow! ''
