Ph: Faith: Poetry For Jack And Jill

Rating: 5.0

My poetry's yours Jack, and Jill, it's yours too.
My intention? To serve you, if home's Timbuktu!
No conversion agenda, let God own that freight,
Or a 'Judas' deception for personal gain,
But hear what I'm saying, ALL feel the world's pain,
If I speak with last breath, may this poem have weight,
Give you something to chew on, a wave you can surf,
For in life, there's a choice: be a king: be a serf!

I choose faith in Christ! Should His death be my pride?
It's both joy and my horror, God's plan that He died
Not to win man God's favor (we had that in spades) ,
But that we might bear witness, the lengths He would go
To reveal pain serves life, that to feel's not a show
But the heart of all growth, though revulsion pervades
When our pain seems just loss (it's a fruit of God's love) ,
The taste binds us to others when push comes to shove!

Relax, you agnostics, you atheists too,
'True' God's Grace is salvation (though that's not your view) ,
And creation God's gifting, His Science just King!
When religions twist Scripture to serve selfish ends,
As they do so, they prove they can't be wisdom's friends.
"Oh, we all share one mother, " this Science I sing!
As I honor God's aim to bring love to each heart,
Hear my prayer that poetry plays a small part!

Poet's Notes:
I drew Jack and Jill from the children's nursery rhyme as
universal names for boys and girls of every faith around
the world (all of whom surely are loved by God) !

Choosing the path of Christ in faith means choosing path of God. Grace of God motivates us and we feel beauty of excellence. An interesting poem is nicely penned.10
