Pet Dog Poem by Peitho Enthermos

Pet Dog

I was a kid; you had puppies.
We grew together among fears and bliss.

I fought many battles, and you fought all along.
You listened to me, even when my rhymes went wrong.
You helped me up, despite paws rather than hands.
I learned important lessons from you, which, by the way, you won't understand.

I had my first heartbreak; you had your first loss.
When things went down, you stayed the most.

You came as a friend;
and you still are 'til the end.
