Perfect Imprint Poem by Jean Dament

Perfect Imprint

There's a picture of you hanging in the halls of my memory;
That captures a smile that seems fixed in time,
Often it haunts the memories that are imprinted on my mind;
And with time you seem more dear to me; as you sit there on the mantle of my heart,
This sweet memory of yours remains untarished still to this very day;
And with the passage of time this picture will probably appear to others as an antiquity,
But to me this image will always stay forever new,
Now I'll try to dry the many tears I've cried over the years for you;
And when I look at that smile of yours looking back at me,
I'll find it a comfort yet today.
