People Poem by Alexander Gardner

People

People, People, gather round.
Look at this new world we’ve found.
Work and work with sweat and blood,
Work right through the rain and mud,

To make the paradise we see,
Become the new reality.
Some will smirk and some will frown,
Upon this grand new world we crown,

But all work hard into the fight,
To avoid all peril and all plight,
Except the man who shirks his load,
Even as we try to goad,

Him into working for the good,
For all mankind he never could.
He would just watch the sky go by,
And we would watch our great world die.
