Pause Poem by George Semper

Pause

Pause

While the passing of a moment could define a lifetime cause
In the instant there and after is the placement of a pause
A supplemental instance that connects our lives together
A timeless everlasting frame that remains with you forever

For it was not the daytime that I remember the time we had
Nor was it not in the night time, when what we did was bad
And not mixed in the words we said or the love we did display
But it was in the instance when we turned to walk away

The moment that I felt a lost of where that I should be
An instant that had changed the thought of a spirit that had run free
So fragile was the moment that no measurement in time
Could explain this separation loss as though it was a crime

So visualize a moment of what this means to you
As I can't be the only one who knows that this is true
The thoughts you sketch into your mind if only just because
Think of when you do remember the moment of a pause.

Decisions are made in an instant, but they will be remembered forever
for each one of us that time is defined in a pause
