Patience Poem by Ben Gieske

Patience

Rating: 2.6

1.
Patience is but waiting
Always that extra momentary
Time when we would rather
Impart all our
Energy into what we might
Not
Consider
Either urgent or worth waiting for.

2.
Put in a guarded container
................a cupful of flour
................a bit of yeast
................and a certain amount of
Anticipation with an old-fashioned
................soda water clock
................to measure the moments of
Time as of yet to be undetermined.
Include a certain herb of indifference to the
Expectations of any expected outcomes
Not failing to keep a
Constant vigil, watching until the
Evolution of this concoction has reached
................its birthing stage.

3.
Place a bottle of soda
................on a table after shaking to
Allow the bubbles to rise and die.
Take time to tiptoe around the table
In your stocking feet.
Eye the bottle and count the
................remaining bubbles that
................have not risen and died.
No, No, No — wait a full ten seconds - un-
Cap another bottle and pour a cup, drink,
Enjoy the first sip of patience.
