Passing Afterthought Poem by Vishorag Shadja

Passing Afterthought

It was almost long obliterated,
Like a broken memory shell…
Of course the thought unaffected,
But like a lingering smell.

It is like distant passing trains...
The choo choo sound that rings,
Much insignificant; yet contains,
The thought that it brings.

It is ever so quick and volatile,
But does linger for a while,
Trying to recall what that feeling was…
When time comes to pass.

Try and catch it all you want,
Set out to find and hunt.
When it passes you by,
And stop searching with a sigh.

Oh c'mon what was it?
Something wise and stupid…
Teasing remnants that float,
With the swaying memory boat.

Do you think about it often?
Or search in memories broken…
Thought that leaves behind faded,
Long obliterated and jaded.
