Party, The Poem by Lorena Walker

Party, The

Blue eyes upon laughter
our lips read sentimental
these moments do not last forever
so we take a photo
red lipstick rims the whine glasses
brown eyes upon affectations
our lips say jealousy
these moments will last forever
we will pretend, always, to be more beautiful
daring enough
to want to smear the lipstick
off their pretty, we mean ugly faces.
