Parents Poem by Frances M

Wales, the land of sheep and strange accents

Parents

Like dodging raindrops from summer skies,
we brush the tears away from their eyes,
and we teach them to hide
what they're feeling inside.

But does carrying an umbrella
put an end to the rain?
and does forcing a smile
make them forget about the pain?

...as a mother I can relate, ...a kind of thoughts that are always there somewhere on the top of your mind and tongue, but when someone puts this into such simple lines it makes you wanna wonder, ....what is it you do to change it.....

Great poem. It made me question what I do to my own kids. I've saved this one. Thanks.
