Overcompensation Poem by Nalini Jyotsana Chaturvedi

Overcompensation

The game of hide and seek
Light and shadow show,
so to speak
Of smiles and tears
My fights and fears

As my past collides
With present at last
The duels within that fill me
With encroaching doubts
As I try to control
My crying bouts

When real seems so unreal
When I realise so much
Was hidden
in many layers concealed
Never in time revealed

I want to change
my very element
My habits my thoughts
Want to go on a rampage

How to deal with
All this uncontrollable rage
Cleaning up my past
Recreating my new story
To be shown
On a brand new stage
