Over Concerned Wife And Her Lazy Husband Poem by Susan (Mihika) Mishra

Over Concerned Wife And Her Lazy Husband

The sun is bright yellow, the sky is dull grey
The wind is whispering, the dawn making its way
Early morning the waves touching the cay
Birds chirruping starting their day

Such a beautiful morning fresh and gay
Breakfast on the table bread and butter on the tray
Hot cup of tea ready to make its way
Mr. Ted still asleep in his house at the bay

Mr. Ted's wife shakes him off his dreams just to say
'My love wake up welcome the new day
Look at the sun and its golden ray
Let's work with zeal and not lazily lay'

Mr. Ted opened his heavy eyes and grumbled like donkey's bray
No dear Lady come to the bed besides me and stay
It is cold outside I don’t want to be influenza's prey
Outside smoky fog will make me stray

Get up my Husband life is not a play
So many bills how will we pay
Cows are mooing as it is their time for hay
Go to work make and sell some clay

Oh dear wife please leave me alone here I pray
I dream us at that beautiful house at the hill where I wish to stay
There is plenty of time in a day
Work is monotonous and I will do it my way

Close the gate that wind has pushed last night out of its way
The stray dogs will chase the chickens and make them their prey
Wake up Man be an enthusiast and rock the day
Don’t be a procrastinator not a good character to portray

Life is short make the most out of your day
Our hair has already turned grey
Time flies off but there is still time to fly and sway
There is still chance to grow and play
