Outcast Poem by Syeda Sheema

Outcast

Is this the way my life to end
With nothing but the open sky
With no one that I can claim
my own--
None whom I believe besides me
Claimed I know them
Can I be so wrong?
Did I built an illusive world?
Alone I stood near the cliff
Am an outcast among my own
Life no longer hold beauty
Can I ever hold my head high?
Am an outcast among my own.
Will I renounce being an outcast?
Who will claim me as their own?
I was a free bird back then
Nothing prepared me when I got caught...
I wish to fly again
But my wings are clipped....
Am an outcast among my own.
