Out Of Reach Poem by Robert Toews

Out Of Reach

Rating: 4.0

If only the sun had not set just beyond my hopes,
and rabbits hadn't flown away to meet thier dream.
we hired a man who claimed he knew the ropes,
and thanked the stars for early morning gleam.

where did you meet the girl who snowed on you?
how funny clouds become when grass grows tall!
the lamp post fell bacause how long it grew,
and made us look and wonder at it all.

the horse who stood upon the throne,
whose wiskers never twitched when birds began to sigh,
he wished his queen would learn to moan,
and put her crown upon the shelf when night was drawing nigh.

alas my friend theres something you must know,
bicycles don't always run and hide.
if dogs and shepherds strive to reach the goal,
then liars lurk when people know they lied.

so now that that is clear inside your mind,
and boots and boys will never fear the sun.
then all of us should not be left behind.
the truth is, ninety nine is more than one.
