Our Love Must Die Poem by Davina Vanessa Rivas

Our Love Must Die

Oh baby boy
Why won’t you let the past be?
Let our love fade away
Yes! I do still love you
But not as much as before
The fun we had was great
But that all went away
When you said goodbye
So why won’t you let my love die
The flames of desire
Were finally gone
Until you kissed me
And the passion arose again
But the passion I want
Is not with you my love
I’m sorry but my love for you
Needs to die
So I can live my life with someone
Who cares about me
The same way you loved and cared for me
Our love needs to fade no needs to die
For the only thing left is our friendship
Please understand I need to let you go
Every time we hug I know you love me
But it hurts me knowing I can’t have you
You are supposedly in love with another
Your words for me are true
But I don’t want to hear them from you
You know you will always be in my heart
That can never change
But our love does
I can’t keep pushing people away
Because I believe you will come back to me
I’m sorry my love but
My dreams, hopes, and wishes
Of us being together again
Can never come true
My heart is heavy with this burden
I have a ongoing battle within me
For I still want to love you
But I know I must let you go
This is the burden
You’ve, no our old love placed
On my poor heart
I need to let you go
No I have to let you go
So when I do
I can be free from your love
Be free from our old love
So I say again our love must die
