Our Grim Future By: Taylor Donnelly

Our Grim Future
By: Taylor Donnelly

we can not learn from our past
now the future seems so grim
we are racing along so fast
we forget which way we are suppose to go
they wage their fingers saying we are to blame
I'm sorry i don't have the keys to the castle yet try again
if you told us what was coming
then why didn't you fix it
you are the ones in power
you are the one running the show
i cant stand when you keep pushing me back in my seat
i cant change what isn't mine
i cant stop your greed and bad habits
you whine but what about me, what of us
in the end its us who cant make a fuss
we will pay for your sins
we will have to pay for the sins of our parents
for giving what isn't theirs to give
for giving what they don't have
i feel doomed and scared
this weight so much to bear
crushing me
i have to hold you up on one hip
with a my own on the other
we cant learn for our past now the futures grim
