Our Country Tis Of We Poem by Sandra Feldman

Our Country Tis Of We

'Sweet Land of Liberty',
Lost in the Pathetic twists of our Times,
Can't hide behind old Rhymes,
The once goodness that was taught,
The pride, in doing the right thing,
In spreading through the World,
Liberty's harmonious ring,
That enormous blessing has been destroyed
Instead we are told to cultivate, the Void.

The Truth is there,
The Country layeth bare,
In the hands of Incompetence and Hate,
Of lies carefully woven and spread by the state,
America, you've lost your mate,
Who will defend you now?
who will stand up for your rights?
When systematically, you've been torn down,
In every domain, in every town.

As the World's only Liberty Light,
Keeps dwindling right under our sight,
Who will have the courage to stand Up?
Who will with great thunder scream 'ENOUGH'!
It's time for Shame to Stop!

What an eye opening cry of a genuine citizen! I admire both your valor as well as your crafty poetry.
