Other World. Poem by Durlabh Singh

Other World.

Prose Poem.

‘You can visit other world.’
‘Where and how? ’
‘Just around the corner.
There is a house where you can visit other world.’
‘How is that possible? Those are distant worlds.’

‘As you go higher onto other dimensions, you will come across
a dimension where all other dimensions are contained. In that super
dimension you will find other world. It may be called sixth dimension or whatever one likes to call it.

I thought it will be a short journey but it turned out to be a long one, the further you got
, the longer it became and I kept asking every supposedly passerby the way to it
and everybody kept telling me ‘Just around the corner’.

The door was open and there were women lying on the couches and as I looked closer, it looked like that their flesh was made of wooden like material- of yellowish brown hue. The material was more like sandalwood with an overpowering intoxicating smell of so many odours issuing forth and in which one could drown all one’s senses.
Were they real women or a part of my soul? One could never decide, perhaps as a man the soul comes in feminine form and mysteries of soul are profounder and inconceivable.
