Open Up Poem by Katie Leon

Open Up

You live behind the wall you built to protect you from the world, the wall you buil to seal you off from every pain and hurt. Then I stepped into your life, and I walked right up to the wall, but no matter what i say or do the wall just will not fall. I've tried climbing, I've tried asking, I've tried begging on my knees, but the wall you've built is now so strong that it even repels me.
One day when the wall does fall, I'll still be waiting there, and maybe then you'll let me in because you'll know how much I care. I'll still be her listening, not to judge or to condemn, beacause just like I want to be your wife I want to be your friend.
So pleaase remember when you're ready, that I'm listening and I'm here, and that there is nothing you can say or do to change the way i feel.
