One Way Poem by moon dust

I see you as I once was
Wild, but not free
Your mind won't let you be
You've been hurt too many times, shoved around
And as always you're picking yourself off the ground
But this last time you just don't know
If you can do it again
And somewhere down the line
The bottle became your best friend
And it seems easier to drink the feelings away
And you're headed down this track, looking behind you
And you just can't get back
And you can't shake the confusion from your mind
'Cuz the alcohol is talking to you
Telling you how hard lifes been on you
And you listen to the bottle like it's your only friend
You never see it clear
The people who care
I'm telling you it's a lie and throwing you back again and again
How long can you keep it going
You don't know what you're missing
And all these things have been told to you before
As another friend is ordered out your door
And you're left picking yourself up off the floor
And again you're too drunk to care anymore.
