One Unkempt Promise Poem by j.m. Merrill

a little piece of america at its best, or so the sign says

One Unkempt Promise

Fully clothed
Laying naked in the road
Stones penetrating my body
A bathroom painted with your blood
A parking lot filled with my tears and vomit
The dirty realization im alone once again
One

Unkempt

Promise
Some utterly crazed hands fueled with madness
I didn’t mean to bother your existence
But once again my hearts on trial
Give me the chair
Give me the needle
Give me the gas
You can’t resuscitate the soul
