A ray of sun light strays
Through the dark labyrinth of the village wood
And tickles a mighty breath of life,
Oh wonder of wonders!
Breeze begins to blow
Leaves to strum
And birds rise from their nests singing pleasant eulogies of praise.
Another lease of life is freely endowed.
I watch.
And wonder from where life spring
Into such exuberance of ineffable beauty,
That blinds the eyes and senses.
What give it that inexhaustible zest and vigour.
Wise men have wondered
But no answer found,
A great many books written,
Search in vain!
Great songs have been sung
With tearful hearts, full of devotion.
Heavens have been moved
Yet my friend like rain, they all come down,
Ineffective!
He who knows the answer sits quiet,
Ages after ages,
In his abode of silence, waiting.
How dearly we want to reach up there!
And how dearly he wants us to reach up to him
But guided by greed and false devotion,
Pride and ignorance
Our arrows go the wrong way
