One Only Can Live Poem by Francis Duggan

One Only Can Live

One only can live to be good as one can
Live to be a better person a woman or man
And help anybody of your help in need
You are sowing the seeds of good Karma in your every good deed
If you cannot help people do not do them wrong
Compassion and kindness to those with empathy belong
That selfless people are not plentiful is not a lie
But there's far more to living life than me, myself and i
The one who has attained the status of renown
And often is feted as the toast of the town
A name for future generations to recall
But as a person one who may not be that good at all
You only can live as the best you can be
With such an assumption would you not agree.
