One Poem by Ellie Murphy

One

Rating: 3.8

Here we remain,
Trapped in an endless cycle.
You fall; I try to catch you,
But it is not my touch you crave.
You want another, a stranger,
To force your preconceived idea of love upon,
And in your foolishness you fall their way,
And in their ugliness, they drop you.
How could they? For you are most precious,
And you shatter instantly.
I mend you with my bare hands,
Bleed from reopened scars,
And send you onwards
To find your way back to me.
For surely, you would know,
That I would never let you fall?
I would never let you hit the ground
If only you would give me
That one chance
To show you
