On The Night When Evil Rose.... Poem by Prateek Sehgal

On The Night When Evil Rose....

Screeching, screaming flocks of jerks
laughing in an unknown madness
all around....
as far i could see

Fire rose to the skies,
noises to the heaven
and the fear pierced the soul
on the night, when evil rose...

but then was a sudden silence
and a mystic voice struck my ears..
RUN RUN RUN!

Then i felt my feet taking
me to some nowhere,
away from light and away from bright..
into the darkness
where everyone is blind,
but a place so vast
where nothing can bind.

lost in nowhere, i cried
to search the
but tired and starved, i just fell..
and then asked myself,
was it heaven or the hell...

In that holy silence,
me heard a sound again...
heard never before
a sound so pure,
a sound so clear,
the beats of my heart,
the sound so dear.

Soon the beats became divine,
and i could hear words in them......

It asked for my closest beings
and for their well being.
Then it asked for my dearest group
and the people i know for good.
Then reminded me of every man,
I ever saw in life......
the bookstore man i often see,
the teacher who taught me,
the man who delivered milk,
the lady who sold silk.
everyone I know or came across,
I saw through my blinded eyes..

Then the voice rose
and became harsh,
and asked me yet again,
'Count the men in front of you,
for those who would remember you,
when you would leave from here..

Name all those
who would cry,
when God would call you there'

I felt a grudge in me,
and a regret for my wasted years..
tears dropped through my eyes,
as I counted my earthly fears.

Then the voice dropped again,
softer then the softest heard...
'Your tears have done it all for me,
now its time for you to do.

Let the people know the truth,
make them feel the same,
Let the God rise in them,
make the Evil detain...'

'I would be always with you,
beating with your Heart...
helping you to chose the right,
making every end a start....'

The last words I heard that night'
'RUN! RUN! RUN! '
