On The Impending Death Of My Childhood Dog Poem by Jesse Swedlund

On The Impending Death Of My Childhood Dog

I haven't been this sad for a while.
It's the kind of sad that feels like you swallowed a penny.
Like my body is slowly becoming metallic from the deepest inner part.
Like a playground bully is sitting on my chest.
Death is part of life. This lesson hits hard every time.
Letting go is sometimes the hardest part of love.

Letting Go is difficult. Especially when pets never let us down and they just want to give us love all of the time. You have expressed you heartache well. Thank You Jesse. Hope you do not mind but do you know that when I am on a low I read others words on PH and so often feel inspired and run forward.
