On The Death Of A Girl Poem by Leslie Philibert

On The Death Of A Girl

Rating: 5.0

How can I
go forward to Spring
when you left me
in Winter?
How can I drink
when you are
as dry as a stowed apple?
How can I eat
when you are as empty
as a cold bowl?
How can I sleep
when you will not wake?
Let me stop and reach for your hand
seeking your fingers.
