On Stand By Poem by Monica Melissano

On Stand By

Can you recall
how full of energy
and sweetness
we used to be?

Can you hear the laughs
do you see the dances
may you feel on your skin
the London rain
3 am at the bus stop?

It was real
life
shared
and multiplied.

We used to be brave and unreasonable
and young at hearts
and I felt so beautiful.

Distance
brought
disappointments.
