On Second Thought- Poem by Glenn Anderson

On Second Thought-

Hospitals! They are such depressing places-
So full of pain, odd odors, somber faces;
And seldom are there ever even traces
Of real contentment.
As for myself, escape alone erases
All my resentment!

But, then-alas! -I must in fairness add:
Not every visit there is really bad-
A visit comes to mind that makes one glad-
Ecstatic, maybe.
You enter, just a husband- leave a DAD,
With brand new BABY! !
