Girls: God's Best Work! Poem by Glenn Anderson

Girls: God's Best Work!

Lines from a poem by Robert Burns read:

Auld Nature swears the lovely dears
Her noblest work she classes, O:
Her prentice hand she tried on man,
An' then she made the lasses, O.

I penned two brief verses, following, which affirm Burns's sentiment, but which I believe more correctly portray the creator as God, rather than resorting to the lame, however poetical, reference to a version of 'Mother Nature'.

Man—
When God created the first man
He left some pieces out—
That some improvements could be made
There was but little doubt—
The courage and the muscle and the mind were really great,
But the man could never be complete until God made him a mate!

Woman—
When God created woman
He fashioned every part
In such an awesome, perfect way—
Especially her heart—
That nothing in her arsenal of wiles could ever fail;
One look at her and there’s no doubt that God is surely male!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I don't deem a brief quote from one of 'the Bard's' poems to amount to plagiarism, this is sort of a package-deal!
