On High Street Poem by Cody Klinker

On High Street

A couple, by car, passes High Street one Saturday morning.
The car decelerates and spots an obstacle dead ahead.
A five foot individual, covered in dirt,
One green bowler held in hand. Desperation
Displayed on the young man's face, obviously in need of nutrition.
The vehicle screeches to a halt to avoid collision,
The man pleading for help in order to survive in the world.
Then one could hear the horn being honked. The man was moved,
And the car was on its way, the man no less hungry.
