On And On And On Poem by Anand Brown

On And On And On

Rating: 5.0

Arch your back for a familiar God.
Mechanised reasoning
Conditioned thinking
Expected speeches
Predicted actions.

Forward workers!

The labour commences.
And muscles are stretching,
Sweat dripping,
Teeth grinding,
Knees buckling.

Forward workers!

Till your infants talk,
And your wife walks.
Till your neighbours hide,
And your house turns cold.

Worker there is no reward for your
Devotion.
Just a simple
Thank you,
For giving us your
Soul.

I think this poem is written by a man with a strong social conscience. Another meaningful message Anand. Read my poem the Price of Gold.

The plight of the poor, labouring day in day out, is well captured in your poem. I liked the last part: Worker there is no reward for your Devotion. Just a simple Thank you, For giving us your Soul. Great write! Paul
