On A Suicide Mission Poem by Jaipal Singh

On A Suicide Mission

Quite fed up with his life
He wanted to commit suicide
He considered available options
The ceiling fan, poison or a gun
Over a hot coffee and snacks
He settled then for a railway track.

The afternoon of a sunny day
He considered an opportune time
With an umbrella, pillow and pizza
Besides some pasta and red wine
He was cozying on the railway line
Hoping, the train will arrive in time.

An onlooker inquired what he was up to
He responded without any pretensions
"Very unhappy in life, so I wish to die."
"But why umbrella, pillow, pizza and wine? "
"Look, I am not keen to die with hunger
And discomfort under this hot sunshine
You know, our trains are seldom in time
So it's my contingent plan for a respite."
